The ATOMRC Dolphin 845mm Wingspan FPV RC Airplane is an EPP molded wing, embedded with carbon fiber tube, durable and lightweight. Features a detachable head and wing, a rubber band and magnet (to lock your GoPro), air inlet and outlet for FPV gear cooling, pre-installed wing, fuselage protector, and other cool features that make thing wing a must-have!

    The Dolphin is a very efficient and well designed airframe. Fairly high cruise speeds coupled with low amp draw is easily achieved. This is my second one and I love it ! The kit sold by Kiwi Quads is the Kit Lite version and involves quite a bit of assembly work but hey for the price you cannot go wrong.

    Build quality is quite good, the foam is really tough and I’m sure it will hold up well when I bin it into the neighbours lawn at 70kph.

    I got the version that has the FC wired up to the esc and motor so mostly ready to fly. Inav 6 is set up ready to roll though I changed things around to how I like it. The motor was spinning anti clockwise which would mean the supplied props would make it fly backward which was a bit odd but remedied that in 1min by swapping two motor leads to the esc. Bit of soldering was required but there was going to be plenty of that anyway.

    The motor mount fixing points on the ply back plate are quite close to the edge and may break with a few rough landings so I designed some new mounts. The parts use the stock screws and make it a bit less likely to come off when I land it creatively.

    The Dolphin has so much room inside it you can put batteries all over the place. Shouldn’t be a problem to get the cg correct. I have a runcam thumb and foxeer cam on the front with a pan tilt thing and a 4s 18650 pack balances it with loads of adjustment to spare. I could put another 4s pack in the back and still get it balanced. I’m yet to fly it but by all accounts it is a great plane to fly, guess I’ll find out when the wind dies down a bit.

    Travis is great to talk to, really knows his stuff and can guide to the correct equipment for the task, not just a quick sale. He has good stock on hand, important in this day and age where we need everything right now. I purchased simply for that reason, I could have it same day and put it together during my week off. Wouldn’t have bothered if I had to wait weeks. Keep up the good work!
